First, let me say that TubeSock is the greatest thing ever. None of the other “YouTube downloaders” even come close…they’re all horrible…and so that’s why I’m begging you to keep working on TubeSock3 so we can start downloading again.

You asked for reports on how beta 16 works on a PowerPC machine: I downloaded it this afternoon, and here’s what happened:

1. YouPorn: TubeSock seemed to download the file OK, but crashed (unexpectedly quit) just at the end of the “save” procedure.

2. The Onion: Crashed immediately when I clicked “Save.”

3. DailyMotion: Crashed immediately when I clicked “Save.”

4. RedTube: Rather than clicking “Save” I decided to click “Preview” first. The preview played all the way through with no problem. Then I clicked “Save.” The download went through OK, and then started the “converting video” phase. At the very end of the converting phase, TubeSock crashed.

I’m running a PowerPC G4, OS X 10.4.11.

The format I’ve chosen for YouTube to save is “Video for Mac.”
